Cast Aluminum is a widely used type of Aluminum. The most common use of this Aluminum is in many types of pots and pans and even more so Automotive parts. You can even find this type of Aluminum in cast figurines and nick knacks that you might have around the house or yard. However the easiest place to find this Aluminum will be in things like lawn mower engines, automatic transmissions from cars and trucks , even many tractor trailer parts can be made from this type of aluminum. This is typically a more brittle Aluminum that sometimes will break on impact. Some of the older Bar B Que grills are made out of cast Aluminum also. Proper preparation of this material typically takes a fair amount of work because almost all steel, plastic and other foreign objects must be removed. On the positive side this Aluminum tends to be denser and heavier than many others and the weight and $$$ add up faster.
